The EPIC Industry Training Board:
provides strategic advice to government on vocational and technical education matters, training policy, research requirements
and priorities for funding allocation within the Electrotechnology,
Printing, Information Technology and Communications Industries,
and establishes, develops and maintains communication with government
statutory bodies and other relevant associations and organisations
participates in accreditation and recognition processes
provides advice to the National ITABs for National VET Plans
supports government objectives at a state level, to meet the
present and future skills needs of society through training
initiatives and programs
acts as the principal voice of the Electrotechnology, Printing,
Information Technology and Communications Industries on issues
related to vocational educations and training via the Electrotechnology,
Printing, Information Technology and Communications Divisional
Skills Councils
acts as the principal source of information and advice to
the Electrotechnology, Printing, Information Technology and
Communications Industries on matters related to the vocational and technical education needs of these industries and their various
sectors
collects, evaluates and disseminates data and information
on the education and training needs of the participating industries
and various sectors
institutes research and development strategies relating to
vocational and technical education within the Electrotechnology,
Printing, Information Technology and Communications industries
contributes to the identification and development of national
competency standards by industry sectors, and advances the recognition
of education and training conducted in accordance with those
standards
promotes training and training reform in the Electrotechnology,
Printing, Information Technology and Communications Industries,
and supports the development and implementation of vocational and technical education in various sectors of those industries
liaises with and participates on national training advisory
bodies.

- undertaking workforce skills analyses
- structuring innovative and industrially responsive skills development programs
- preparing accreditation submissions.

optimising the use of human resources by:
- brokering training delivery and competency assessment
- liaising with government and tertiary education and training organisations on behalf of printing enterprises
- facilitating the development of strategic skills development plans.

maximising the quality of education and training
by:
- undertaking research and feasibility studies
- developing policies, procedures and performance measures
- evaluating outsourced education and training provision.

maximising the benefits of expenditure on skills
development by:
- gaining competitive prices and/or accessing eligible government
funds
- managing tender processes.

maximising customer or employee satisfaction by:
- undertaking customer satisfaction surveys
- designing and executing education and training events
- determining the most appropriate use of technology and multimedia.
